GNM Eligibility
Standards

General Nursing & Midwifery training criteria for the academic year 2026-27.

Primary Criteria

  • 01

    Educational Qualification

    Candidates must pass the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any recognized Board/Council.

  • 02

    Age Specification

    Applicant must be a minimum of 17 years and a maximum of 27 years as of 1st January 2024.

  • 03

    Citizenship & Residency

    Must be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of a District in West Bengal.

    Note: You can only apply for the specific district of your permanent residence.

Selection Process

Admission is based on marks obtained in the Higher Secondary Examination and a mandatory entrance examination typically held in June.

Mark Calculation Basis:

  • One Language Subject
  • English
  • Best of Three Subjects (Excluding ENVS)

Important: Vocational stream students are not eligible for this course.

Medical Standard

All candidates must be medically fit to pursue nursing training and will be required to submit a fitness certificate during the admission process.
