Surgical Oncology, often referred to as Onco-Surgery, is the branch of surgery specializing in the surgical management of cancer. It is one of the oldest and most effective forms of cancer treatment, often serving as the primary method for treating localized solid tumors.
While medical oncologists manage cancer through drugs and radiation oncologists use high-energy beams, surgical oncologists are the specialists who perform the physical procedure to diagnose, remove, or alleviate the disease.
