JIMSH combines the competency-based curriculum mandated by WBUHS with real-world patient interaction in its multi-specialty teaching hospital. With 500+ bed capacity, 24/7 emergency & ICU services, advanced OTs, and a high daily OPD/IPD patient influx from South 24 Parganas and Kolkata, students develop critical diagnostic skills and procedural confidence under expert clinical supervision.

JIMSH is affiliated with The West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) for its medical programs. Its nursing and paramedical courses are approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), West Bengal Nursing Council (WBNC), and the State Medical Faculty of West Bengal.
JIMSH offers a diverse range of medical and healthcare programs, including MBBS (250+ annual seats), postgraduate MD/MS clinical and pre-clinical specialties, B.Sc. Nursing & GNM, as well as Pharmacy (B.Pharm/D.Pharm) and Paramedical Diplomas (BMLT, Radiology, etc.).
The compulsory 1-year rotatory internship at JIMSH allows MBBS graduates to rotate through diverse medical departments—including General Medicine, Surgery, OB-GYN, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, and Emergency Care. Interns gain extensive bed-side experience, learn to handle acute emergencies, and receive a stipend as per state regulatory norms.
JIMSH integrates licensing exam preparation into its academic schedule through regular grand tests, clinical case discussions, subject-wise mock exams, and access to a 24/7 central library stocked with digital journals and standard medical reference materials. Admission to the MBBS program at JIMSH is strictly merit-based through NEET-UG scores. Qualified candidates must register for centralized counseling via the West Bengal Medical Counseling Committee (WBMCC) for State Quota and Management seats, or the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) for NRI/All India seats, selecting JIMSH as their preferred choice.
