Pre-Clinical & Para-Clinical Laboratories

The Anatomy Laboratory has been constructed with best-in-class dissection, histology, and neuroanatomy infrastructure. It is managed by highly qualified and experienced faculty members, providing comprehensive practical orientation in human structural anatomy.

The Department of Biochemistry was established in November 2016 through the integration and restructuring of clinical chemistry sections from the Departments of Physiology and Pathology. The department strives to achieve excellence in medical education and diagnostics by providing holistic education inclusive of up-to-date knowledge and research in clinical chemistry, compassion for patients, and professional camaraderie to fulfill the mission of JIMS Hospital & Medical College.

• Total Quality Management (TQM): The department operates under strict Total Quality Management principles in all spheres of functioning, streamlining analytical processes to achieve maximum clinician and patient satisfaction.
• Problem-Based Learning (PBL): Practical curriculum is structured around problem-based learning, characterized by active case discussions and Quality Control clinics designed to train students into skilled, analytical practicing physicians.

The Department of Physiology was established in November 2016 at the Academic Block of JIMS Hospital with an annual intake capacity of 100 students. The laboratory complex includes dedicated workstations for haematology practicals, human clinical physiology, and mammalian organ baths.

• Technician Training & Allied Sciences: In addition to undergraduate medical education, the department actively participates in teaching physiological laboratory methods to students enrolled in the Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) training course administered by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER).
